Metode DEM tersebut sangat berguna untuk memodelkan interaksi antara partikel-partikel individu dalam situasi di mana perilaku kolektif mereka menghasilkan fenomena kompleks dan seringkali nonlinier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dalam simulasi DEM, material yang sedang dipelajari direpresentasikan sebagai kumpulan partikel diskrit (tidak saling terhubung), masing-masing memiliki properti tertentu seperti massa, ukuran, bentuk, dan properti mekanik.
